About Strickler's
Good conversation, great cuts and classic barbershop service from barbers you have grown to trust.
In 1966, his son, Joe Strickler, graduated from high school and had no choice but to enroll in Allentown barber academy. After Joe completed his training, he and his father “Riss” barbered together until 1980 when his dad retired. From time to time, Riss would stop down for a few hours a day to give Joe a break while he would run fire calls and take a lunch break.
Over the years, a few people worked part-time for Joe, but it wasn't until 2006 when Dustin‘s grandfather, who knew that Joe was looking for someone to join his team, asked him if he wanted to pursue barbering. Dustin attended Champs Barber School in Lancaster and eventually transferred to Strickler’s to finish his state board hours.
Joe and Dustin worked together for ten years until Joe, like his father before him, decided to take it easy and work a few hours every day. In 2016, after many conversations, Dustin and Joe came to an agreement for Dustin to take ownership of Strickler‘s barbershop.
In 2019, it was time for an update. The shop had remained the same since Joe last remodeled in 1974. Several walls were removed to open up the space and brighten it up. This update was only the second time since 1942. Today, the shop boasts three chairs and a welcoming atmosphere for all our loyal customers.
In 2020, we hired Evan Hastings to accommodate the growing demand for a classic barbershop. Evan attended The Cutting Edge Barber Academy in downtown Lancaster and has been a great addition to our family atmosphere.
Stricklers has been the one and only male barbershop in downtown Quarryville since 1942. We welcome everyone of all ages to stop by anytime for all your barbering needs.
